Occupational Therapist

Location: Newport, VT
Currently seeking an Occupational Therapist in the northern area of Vermont.

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist: 
  • Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs in the hospital outpatient and inpatient settings, schools (early education through High School), and Nursing Homes.
  • Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance; facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct pathology, and to promote and maintain health. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. 
  • Work with patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
 Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Vermont. Must be flexible and well-versed in multiple areas of practice. 
  • 1-2 years’ experience preferred, but a highly motivated new graduate with exposure to a variety of clinical experiences will be considered.  
  • Show evidence of good analytical assessment skills, independent decision making abilities, excellent skills in treatment documentation (electronic and paper based), and strong communication and collaboration skills with other professionals.
