Cardiology Nurse

Location: Springfield, IL

Currently seeking a Cardiology Nurse in the central area of Illinois. New Graduates are encouraged to apply.

This is a 12 hour night shift position; 7pm to 7am

Responsibilities of the Cardiology Nurse:
  • Team nursing care of medical cardiac and surgical patients, care of post op cath patients. 
  • Telemetry, ability to titrate vasoactive IV medications. 
  • Nurses care for medical cardiac patients and post-cardiac-cath patients; ablation patients. 
  • Also has Coronary Care Unit beds for closer observation of acute MI patients. 
  • All beds have “on-site” telemetry monitoring.
  • Many opportunities for assessments, teaching, IVs, dressings, analysis of laboratory values and medication administration and management.

Requirements of the Cardiology Nurse:
  • BSN preferred.
  • Licensed as RN in State of Illinois or willing to obtain
  • New graduates welcomed to apply; at least 1 year of experience in Med-Surg setting preferred
  • Current BLS; ACLS preferred

This facility is a Magnet-designated, acute care hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.  This not for profit community based facility is dedicated to patient care, education and research. Includes adding on 3 patient care floors and a new state-of-the-art learning center! It is a Level 1 Trauma Center with 473 beds.

This area is the state capital and is also the home of the Founding Father, Abraham Lincoln; he is buried just outside Springfield at Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site. It is a short dive to Chicago.
